“Bahubali : The Beginning” is said to be the most expensive movie in the history cinema of India, as it have a budget of 250 crores Indian rupees. This epic film will be shown in over 4000 screens worldwide and it is going to release on July 10th. It haves around 4,500 VFX shots, which is highest ever for any Indian film. Bahubali film was simultaneously made in Tamil and Telugu with dubbed versions releasing in Malayalam, Hindi, English, French and Japanese as well.
As the film is a periodic flick which includes war and fight sequences, trainers from Veitnam had to train the lead actors including Prabhas, Anuskha, Rana and Satyaraj with ace stuntman Peter Hein helming the action sequences.
Prabhas and Rana had stick to a strict diet plan to gain some serious weight for their respective roles for the film. The actors had to take 6-8 meals a day and every item had to be strictly non-vegetarian only. The actors had to eat according to their diet every 2 hours and rice was definitely off their menu. The target of both the actors was to consume around 2,000-4,000 calories per day.
It is one of the movies which was a part of BBC’s documentary on 100 years of Indian cinema. It was the single movie that was documented by the BBC before its release – During the principle photography stage of its Production.
Prabhas and Rana had to gain the 100-Kg weight training that was set for this film by Rajamouli. They had uncountable hours of special muscle training to put on the physique required for their respective roles.
It has a crew of the highest numbers of National Award winning technicians in the project. Anuska Shetty is the only Heroine to be repeatedly cast in a Rajamouli film. She had earlier done “Vikramarkudu” with the same director. Rajamouli has the habit of not picking up heroines from his earlier films, but Anushka has broken the myth this time. Around 800+ Technicians worked on Design, Art and Visual Effects.
The film was shot using Arri Alexa XT camera, for marking of Rajamouli’s first full length feature film to be shot using digital cameras. Twenty-six VFX studios ( Indian and international ) and 600 graphic artists executed the graphics at 18 facilities around the world.
It took Almost 1 year for Pre-Production work which is highest for any Indian movie till date. The magnificent palaces, forts, water falls were all created for the movie.
The makers of the film had provide Prabhas some major league Body Building equipment imported from overseas. His beakfast includes 40 boiled eggs per day. Currently, he is steadily loosing weight to get ready for the sequel which would go on the floors from this September.
The film’s Twitter handle posted a picture of the ‘world record’ movie poster. The poster was lauched in Kochi. The movie has just entered Guinness Book of World Records by making largest poster ever. It has been made a History through this grand poster of Bahubali
